Redox RX peristaltic pump for swimming pools

The peristaltic pump for dosing sodium hypochlorite and controlling the redox potential (Rx) It is designed to automate a key part of the pool water treatment process: the measurement of the redox potential and dosing of the disinfectant based on the set value.

Using the ORP probe supplied, the unit continuously measures the redox potential of the water and compares the reading obtained with the setpoint selected by the practitioner. Depending on this measurement and the control mode set, the pump starts or stops dosing automatically.

This enables the installer or maintenance technician to integrate a system into the installation that automatic dosing controlled by Redox, reducing reliance on manual dosing and making it easier to monitor the treatment.

Integrated Redox / ORP control

The equipment operates within a measurement range of 400 to 999 mV.

The setpoint can be adjusted within this range in increments of 10 mV, allowing the pump’s operation to be adapted to the requirements of the system.

The pump also features a control mechanism ON/OFF and allows you to select ORP operation in Hi o It from the settings menu.

During normal operation, the display shows the Redox reading obtained by the probe. If the measured value is outside the instrument’s operating range, the display flashes.

Dosing via a peristaltic pump

The TRYPKRX is fitted with a peristaltic pump with a flow rate of 1.5 litres per hour.

This system allows the chemical to be dosed directly into the swimming pool’s hydraulic circuit, provided that the installation conditions specified by the manufacturer are observed.

The maximum permissible back pressure is 1.5 bar, so the pressure at the injection point must be checked before carrying out the installation.

The equipment manual specifies the use of the following for ORP applications: liquid bleach and sets out the relevant safety precautions for handling chemicals.

Automatic measurement and dosing in a single unit

The main function of the TRYPKRX is to combine the following into a single device:

Redox measurement → comparison with the setpoint → activation of the dosing system.

This allows the technician to set an operating value and let the equipment automatically control the pump’s activation based on the reading received from the ORP probe.

It is worth bearing in mind that the redox value is expressed in millivolts (mV) and represents the oxidation-reduction potential of water; it is not a direct reading of chlorine concentration expressed in ppm.

Digital display

The device features a screen measuring 4 digits and 7 segments from which the reading is displayed and the main settings are adjusted.

It has three operating positions:

MOM – Cebado

Switch on the pump to prime the dosing circuit.

ON – Normal operation

The device measures the ORP/redox value and automatically adjusts the dosage in accordance with the setpoint.

OFF – Stopped

The pump remains switched off.

Calibration of the ORP probe

The pump includes a 465 mV calibration solution to calibrate the Redox probe.

The procedure is carried out on the device itself, following the sequence set out in the installation manual.

Regular calibration allows the probe’s reading to be checked against a known reference value.

ORP probes are components subject to wear and tear and must be inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The manual expressly states that pH/ORP probes are subject to wear and tear.

Accessories included

The TRYPKRX It is supplied with the main components required for measurement, suction, dosing and installation:

  • ORP probe.
  • Calibration solution for 465 mV.
  • PSS3 probe holder from 1/2″ GAS.
  • 2 pipe connection fittings for 2″ / Ø50 mm.
